I presented a 40 minute session covering portable operations relating to Summits On The Air (SOTA), KRMNP Award, Bushwalking with radio in mind, safety in the bush, trip preparation and planning, portable antennas, batteries & charging and portable logging with apps.

Joe VK3YSP, Julie VK3FOWL, Terry VK3UP and Tony VK3VTH also gave excellent presentation of various aspects of operating away from the comfort of the shack.

A report on the day can be found on the ARV website here.

At the conclusion of the Master Class award presentations were made to myself and Peter VK3PF.

I also made an open offer to support anyone on their first activation be that SOTA, KRMNPA, IOTA or portable in the local park. I am happy to accompany and bring along my radio, batteries and antennas to assist. Anyone in Victoria wishing to take up this offer can contact me here.
